Doors is a nightclub, yes. But it's also a restaurant, a sanctuary, and a garden. It's the nature of the place itself to be different things to different people, and so no one ever quite sees it the same way. Rooms may change their themes and furnishings between one day and the next, and there's even a possibility of relocation.

Despite the club's many purposes, the central aim has always been protection, whether it be from outside forces or from inside forces. The club itself is as much formed by those who are in it as it is an actual building, and does tend to take the shape of what is most necessary at any given moment.

Doors has taken many different names and shapes over the years; in the 1920s it was a liquor-dispensing saloon, while in the 1970s it was a trendy rollerskating discotheque. Each era and major change has in turned influenced the club, so that in odd corners characters may still find an old lava lamp or various other items long lost and half forgotten.

Not even five years ago, the Club was the place to be. Unfortunately, sometime between then and now, a mysterious catastrophe occurred and depopulated the Club. The remaining denizens don't talk about whatever happened, but the call has been put out to restaff and begin things anew.

Doors is a forum-based RP that takes place in a modern fantasy setting for people who are ages sixteen [16] and above. The location is a supernatural night club known only as The Club, a place that draws in all kinds of monsters, creepy crawlies, and magic users from all over this world, as well as some others.

All of the characters are original, created by their respective owners, none of them based on movies or books or any pre-existing setting [though some may be based on myth]. Eventually, all these characters together will create an involved, interactive story, in which they will develop and grow and learn about each other.

Characters at Doors can be whatever you'd like them to be; from half-gods to vampires to ghosts to men possessed by demons. Characters can have any magical ability you can dream up -- from the smallest power like telepathy to god-like abilities to heal or fly. Only the Twins, the guardians of the club, will put a cap on power level upon entrance to keep everything balanced.
